What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
There are unseen forces at work within us. About 300 million cells die in our bodies every minute, these are replaced at a rate of about 2 million per second; all happening within us without our knowing. When we came into being as embryos we were formed in fluid dynamics before our nervous system developed, what a mystery, the brilliance of life.
What are these unseen forces that create and form life? When they no longer work fluently we see disease, dysfunction and pain take over. These are the quiet and gentle nuances that are the underlying curiosity in the practices of biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST). While these mysteries go unexplained by modern science, the founders and innovators in the field of BCST found that there are subtle fluctuations and movements in the body, and that when these movements are augmented by therapeutic listening, patients recovered from a host of conditions.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is a gentle manual therapy technique utilized when a skilled practitioner listens to the subtle pulsations of the system as the body tells its story. During this time of listening, the practitioner augments the client’s innate wisdom and health and facilitates the release of restrictive patterns. A client session is a time of settling nervous system responses and a meeting with respect and compassion to the underlying wisdom within, a way of encouraging full expression of the Health of the body. Craniosacral speaks of the importance of the central structures in the body with this work, the cranium (head), spine and the sacrum (base of the spine)
